Omiete Williams

Omiete Williams serves as National Vice Chair and Chief Operating Officer of the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA), helping lead one of the nation’s foremost organizations representing Black law students. A third-year student at the University of Mississippi School of Law, Williams has centered her legal education on leadership, mentorship and expanding access to the profession for future generations of Black attorneys.

At Ole Miss Law, Williams is active in the Constance Slaughter-Harvey Chapter of the Black Law Students Association, the International Law Society, Dean’s Leadership Council and Black Graduate and Professional Students Association. She also serves on the Mississippi Law Journal, where she has held an executive editorial role. Beyond campus, Williams is affiliated with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and has served as a mentor with Empower Her Rise, supporting aspiring law students as they prepare for the admissions process and legal education.

Williams earned her B.A. in International Studies from Texas A&M University in 2024, where she was elected a Class of 2024 Agent. Her undergraduate experience also took her abroad to Taiwan, where she studied at National Taiwan University and chronicled her experience as a student correspondent. Williams has described that time abroad as an opportunity to move beyond her comfort zone, form friendships across cultures and embrace unfamiliar experiences—an outlook that complements the service-oriented leadership she now brings to NBLSA.
