Alyssa Reid
Alyssa M. Reid is a New York business, entertainment, and intellectual property attorney whose work sits at the intersection of law, business, and culture. As founder of AMR Law, PLLC, she advises founders, brands, creatives, talent, and companies across media, entertainment, sports, technology, fashion, hospitality, and consumer industries. At the heart of her practice is a commitment to helping clients transform ideas, talent, and vision into protected intellectual property, sustainable businesses, and lasting economic value.
Reid began her legal career at Sidley Austin LLP, advising companies on mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions, and later advised startups at Bowery Legal. Her legal perspective is also informed by years of experience in media and entertainment, including roles with Paramount, Food Network, Cooking Channel, and HBO. She worked in the industry while earning her J.D. as an evening student at New York Law School, an experience that helped shape her understanding of the creative and commercial forces behind the businesses she now advises.
Today, Reid extends that experience to the classroom as an adjunct professor at New York Law School. A first-generation American, she is particularly committed to expanding access to knowledge, mentorship, professional networks, and opportunity. Once a mentee in NYU’s Law Alumni Mentoring Program (LAMP), she now gives back as a mentor and has also supported emerging professionals through the New York City Bar Association’s Thurgood Marshall Summer Law Internship Program and the T. Howard Foundation.
Reid serves on the New York City Bar Association’s Entertainment Law Committee and previously served on its Sports Law Committee. Her interests in entrepreneurship, fashion, media, sports, and mentorship reflect a philosophy that runs through both her life and career: achievement, ownership, and self-expression can—and should—coexist.
