Aria Branch

Aria C. Branch is a partner at Elias Law Group, a mission-driven law firm committed to helping Democrats win, citizens vote, and progressives make change. Aria represents Democratic candidates, voters, and progressive organizations in high-profile, high-stakes voting rights, redistricting, and First Amendment litigation. Aria has successfully argued motions, tried cases, and argued appeals in state and federal courts across the country. Her recent engagements include successfully representing a group of New York voters who challenged the 2022 New York congressional districting process, and winning the case before the New York Court of Appeals.

Aria also counsels candidates, nonprofits, and political organizations on campaign finance, nonprofit tax, and ethics issues. Aria has advised candidates for president, the United States Senate, the United States House of Representatives, governor, and mayor of New York City. She has represented clients before the Federal Election Commission, the House and Senate Ethics Committees, and state ethics and campaign finance regulators.

 In 2021, Aria was selected as a “Rising Star” by the National Law Journal. This year, Aria was named a Trailblazer in Law by City & State New York. She is also the 2024 recipient of the Stephanie Mash Sykes Esq. Award for Excellence in Social Justice given by the African American Mayors Association.

Aria is an alumnus of Duke University and Harvard Law School, where she was an editor of the Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review.
