Traci Gibson

Traci A. Gibson is a Houston trial attorney and the founding attorney of Gibson Hamilton, PLLC. In 2026, she made history as the first African American woman elected to chair the Harris County Democratic Party, the largest in Texas.

A native Houstonian, Traci built her career across the public and private sectors. As a felony prosecutor at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, she tried numerous cases and launched a new division dedicated to bond reform for repeat offenders. In private practice, she litigated complex civil and commercial matters at leading Texas firms before opening her own. She has also trained the next generation of trial lawyers as an Adjunct Professor of Pre-Trial Litigation at the University of Houston Law Center.

Traci’s leadership extends well beyond the courtroom. As Past President of the Houston Lawyers Association, she expanded the organization’s scholarship program to support diverse legal talent. She founded the Southwest Region of the National Black Law Students Association in 2016 and continues to chair its advisory board, and she served as Deputy Director of Region V of the National Bar Association. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

A graduate of Texas A&M University and the University of Houston Law Center, Traci remains committed to justice, mentorship, and service to her city.
