Fernando Porter

An Atlanta, GA native, Fernando Porter, M.D. attended Florida A&M University where he received a bachelor’s degree. From an early age, he was always passionate about helping others, mentoring and being engaged in his community so it was inevitable that he would pursue a career that afforded him the opportunity to do both. In 2010, he earned his medical degree from Florida State University, then went on to complete his residency training in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Porter is board certified in Family Medicine and has been practicing Primary Care and Urgent Care in the DMV since 2013. In addition to being the founder of Capital City Primary and Immediate Care in Washington DC and Silver Spring, MD, He is currently serving as National Medical Director of Privia Virtual Health. Under his leadership he has represented Privia Health’s advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill, expanding into new markets, various committees, and assist private practices excel in the complicated world of value based care.

Within Washington DC, he continues to mentor young professionals and has held leadership positions with the DC FAMU Alumni Association. In spare time, Dr. Porter enjoys cycling, watching sporting events, traveling, and spending time with friends, family, his wife and his two boys.
