Carla Jean-Felix

Carla Jean-Felix is a distinguished, board-certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse at Orange Psychiatric Associates specializing in Primary Care and Psychiatric Mental Health.

Currently pursuing her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Emory University, Carla’s research delves into the impact of mental illness within the Black Church, with a commitment to developing culturally competent strategies that bridge the gap between faith and mental health services. Additionally, her work highlights the effects of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder on the developing minds of children and young adults, aiming to raise awareness and shed light on effective treatment options for ADHD in various communities.

With a deep commitment to making healthcare more accessible, Carla actively works to destigmatize and address disparities in physiological and psychiatric services across diverse populations. Her efforts extend beyond North America as she has contributed to global health equity by enhancing healthcare delivery in her native Haiti. Collaborating with local clinicians, she has implemented mobile clinics that provide essential health screenings for chronic conditions like hypertension and diabetes.

With over a decade of experience in Advanced Practice, Carla has worked in various environments, including inpatient and outpatient settings, private practices, in addition to rural and urban communities. Her patient-centered, evidence-based treatment approach and fluency in French, Spanish, and Creole allow her to build meaningful relationships with her patients.

Carla graduated with Honors from the University of Tampa and from South University. A passionate educator, Carla is committed to mentoring emerging clinicians and is dedicated to addressing the mental health needs of her patients and their families. She champions a holistic approach that nurtures both mind and body, empowering individuals to reach their fullest potential and lead their healthiest lives.
