Addison Pruitt

Addison Pruitt’s work focuses on government relations, public affairs and strategic communications. He currently serves as Principal of Government Relations and Director of Public Relations at Compass Advocacy, where he advises clients on government and public affairs matters while developing communications strategies that strengthen how organizations present their missions, priorities and impact.

Prior to joining Compass in 2021, Addison served as a Communications Specialist for the U.S. Architect of the Capitol’s historic Cannon House Office Building Renewal Project. In this role, he coordinated communications and stakeholder outreach with Members of Congress, congressional staff and other key stakeholders surrounding one of the most significant renovation projects on Capitol Hill. Addison previously spent three years in the Maryland General Assembly, including serving as Chief of Staff to the Chair of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland. During his tenure, he worked on legislative and policy initiatives focused on expanding economic opportunity, strengthening minority business participation and advancing investment in underserved communities throughout Maryland.

Beyond his government affairs experience, Addison has provided strategic communications and creative consulting services to nonprofits, businesses and community organizations throughout the Greater Washington region. His work has included branding and visual identity development, website design, digital communications, graphic design and multimedia production. In 2017, he also launched a creative pop-up event series designed to bring young professionals together through art, music and shared experiences.

A lifelong resident of Prince George’s County, Maryland, Addison studied Marketing with a concentration in Product and Brand Management at Virginia Commonwealth University. Addison is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
