Mitchell’s journey in law began with academic excellence, earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Jacksonville State University (JSU). During his time at JSU, Mitchell demonstrated his commitment to excellence by serving as an assistant video coordinator for the football team, showcasing his multitasking abilities and teamwork skills.

Following his undergraduate studies, Mitchell earned a scholarship to attend Southern University Law Center, where he further honed his legal expertise. At Southern University, Mitchell was actively involved in various legal organizations, including the American Bar Association and Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity. He held leadership roles such as Secretary of the Criminal Law Society and Finance Director of the Sports and Entertainment Legal Association, highlighting his dedication to legal education and professional development.
