Alftan Dyson

Dr. Alftan Dyson, PharmD, AAHIVP, FNPhA, brings a powerful blend of clinical expertise and strategic leadership to her role as Head of Strategic Medical Partnerships at ViiV Healthcare. In this capacity, she drives national collaborations with medical institutions, health professional associations, and key opinion leaders to accelerate innovation and amplify ViiV’s mission in HIV care. A passionate advocate for health equity, Dyson has played a pivotal role in shaping medical strategy, previously serving as both Regional Medical Lead for Rukobia and the US Health Equity Medical Engagement Lead.

Since joining ViiV in 2019 as a Medical Science Liaison covering the US Southeast, she has ascended through critical roles including Acting Director on the Global Public Health and Innovation team and US Medical Director for Rukobia. Her prior experience includes serving as Director of Pharmacy Services at Medical Advocacy and Outreach in Montgomery, Alabama, where she oversaw pharmacy operations and 340B program compliance.

Dr. Dyson earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and completed her residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She is a life member of the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA), currently serves on the NPhA Foundation Board, and chairs the Council on Racial Equity for the American Academy of HIV Medicine—demonstrating her commitment to dismantling systemic barriers in healthcare.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Alftan is an avid traveler who enjoys exploring new cultures around the globe with her partner, Dorian.
