Ashley Weathers

Ashley Weathers serves as an Assistant Attorney General for the North Carolina Department of Justice, bringing a wealth of legal expertise across multiple states. Admitted to practice in New York, the Northern District of New York, and North Carolina, Ashley has held diverse roles, including Appeals Referee, Arbitrator, Mediator, and legal services attorney. Her legal experience spans employment, housing and foreclosure, public benefits, consumer protection, torts, and various other civil legal matters. During law school, she gained invaluable experience clerking for the Honorable Judge Therese Wiley Dancks in the Northern District of New York.

Ashley is an active member of several bar associations, holding key positions such as ABA-YLD Treasurer, AGDJ Co-Chair, and NBA-YLD Treasurer. She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Pi, Sigma Iota Epsilon, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Her dedication and leadership have earned her recognition as one of the National Bar Association’s Nation’s Best Advocates for 40 Under 40 and the State and Local Government Elizabeth Clark Fellowship. Beyond her professional achievements, Ashley is deeply committed to community service, volunteering with numerous non-profits and national organizations. She holds an undergraduate degree in Business Finance and Business Management from the University of Georgia and earned her law degree from Syracuse University College of Law.
