Brandon R. Cahee

Brandon works at the National Education Association (NEA), the nation’s largest labor union representing over 3 million members.

Brandon leads the Community Advocacy and Partnership Engagement Department’s African American Outreach & Engagement. In this role he establishes, engages, and coordinates strategic partnerships to support public education from a racial and social justice lens. He also serves as a liaison to develop new and expand existing alliances with civil rights, labor, and other community-based organizations that serve marginalized communities.

Brandon is an active member of the Maryland State Bar and the Washington Bar Association – the oldest and largest voluntary bar association comprised primarily of Black attorneys and judges in the Washington, DC. There, he was recently appointed Chair of their Young Lawyers Division. Additionally, he serves as Chair of the National Black Law Students Association’s Alumni Advisory Committee and was recognized as their Alumni of the Year in 2024. In this role, he advises the nation’s largest student-run non-profit organization whose mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black and minority attorneys to excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.

In January 2025, Brandon was inducted as a Role Model/Mentor into Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson of Florida’s 24th District 5,000 Role Models of Excellence Project (joining such inductees as the Honorable Hakeem Jeffries – Minority Leader of the House of Representatives). This dynamic initiative was founded in 1993 to provide educational opportunities and mentorship to at-risk Black and minority young men and boys in South Florida and has since expanded to other areas in the U.S.

A native of Houston, Texas, Brandon currently resides in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area. He earned a Juris Doctor from the University University of Baltimore School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from Howard University.
