Chyanne Rhodes
Chyanne Rhodes is a third-year law student at Rutgers Law School who is passionate about using the law to help her community. As the immediate past President of the Rutgers Law Black Law Students Association and current Board of Directors member of the National Black Law Students Association Inc., she has worked to support and advocate for her fellow students and the broader legal community. Her interests in bankruptcy law and general litigation stem from her desire to help people navigate challenging legal situations.
Throughout her time in law school, Chyanne has gained practical experience as a Summer Associate at Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP in Delaware, where she will begin her career after graduation. Her commitment to service goes beyond the legal field—she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guyana, where she taught health and life skills to over 300 students and worked on diversity and inclusion initiatives. She has also worked in New Jersey’s court system and the Governor’s office, always focused on helping people access the resources and support they need.
Chyanne’s path reflects her belief that lawyers should be community advocates first. Whether through her leadership roles, her volunteer work, or her future practice, she is committed to making the law more accessible and using her skills to create positive change for others.
