Clarevonte “Clay” Williams
Clarevonte “Clay” Williams is a DMV native, entrepreneur, investor, public servant, and community advocate whose career has centered on expanding opportunity and building pathways for underserved communities. His professional experience spans government, venture capital, financial services, professional sports, higher education, and entrepreneurship, including work with the Maryland General Assembly, the National Football League, Morgan State University, Accion Venture Lab, and Northwestern Mutual.
Clay is the co-founder of Venture for T.H.E.M., an initiative created to increase access to capital, mentorship, and resources for Black and Brown entrepreneurs. Throughout his career, he has advised and supported entrepreneurs, emerging businesses, and students while developing programs that connect communities to capital, education, and economic opportunity.
Service has remained a cornerstone of Clay’s leadership. Inspired by his mother, a social worker who taught him that helping others is also a way of pouring into yourself, Clay has dedicated significant time to civic engagement, mentorship, philanthropy, and voter empowerment. His community work includes organizing a voter-registration activation during the Air Jordan 9 re-release that, with the support of store leadership, offered an incentive to newly registered voters and helped register more than 1,000 people in a single day.
A proud Morgan State University alumnus and member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and 100 Black Men of America, Clay continues to use entrepreneurship, civic leadership, and service as vehicles for creating opportunities for others and strengthening the communities that shaped him.
