A New Orleans native, Courtney resides in her hometown while working remotely as General Counsel of the Genomics Division at LGC, Ltd, a global life sciences leader based in the UK. She provides strategic legal and business leadership across multiple businesses serving a wide range of industries focused on sectors where scientific rigor and precision are critical.
Courtney’s legal career began in Massachusetts, where she supported Fortune 500 companies at Locke Lord, LLP, Axiom Legal, and Sanofi, navigating complex legal landscapes in life sciences.
Courtney’s deep ties to Massachusetts include her leadership as Past President of the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association, where she established the “Building the Legacy” Scholarship Fund among other initiatives that continue to elevate the Boston community.
She currently serves as Vice Chair of the Women Lawyers Division of the National Bar and in executive leadership of the Howard Law alumni association.
In New Orleans, Courtney actively gives back to her community through the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, the Krewe of Themis, and the New Orleans American Heart Association Circle of Red.
A child advocate, Courtney has also made an international impact through medical missions, CASA, and Kids in Need of Defense (KIND).
Courtney is the Founder and President of The Dawa Investment Network, Inc., a national group of Black women physicians focused on investment education and supporting minority entrepreneur-led startups.
Courtney supports her HBCUs through financial and administrative engagement, including service on the Howard University, Inc., Board of Trustees and the Board of Governors for Xavier University of Louisiana.
Her educational background includes credentials from Xavier, the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Howard Law, weaving a narrative of leadership, service, and a commitment to advancing underserved and underrepresented communities in medicine and law.
