Donte Johnson is a seasoned hospitality executive and author whose career reflects a rare balance of operational excellence, community impact, and visionary leadership. A native of Washington, D.C., he graduated from Saint Peter’s University before embarking on a hospitality journey that has taken him to leadership roles in major markets including Miami, Baltimore, Atlanta, and his hometown of Washington, D.C.
Over the years, Johnson has become widely respected for his innovative approach to hotel management and his unwavering commitment to community engagement and diversity in the industry. His accomplishments have been recognized with numerous honors, including the Washington Business Journal’s “Top 40 Under 40” in 2011, the “Leaders in Diversity” Award from the Baltimore Business Journal in 2021, and the “Maverick Award” from the Reginald F. Lewis Museum in 2023.
In addition to his executive responsibilities, Johnson is a passionate advocate for mentorship and workforce development within hospitality. He lends his expertise to several influential boards, including the Procure Impact Advisory Board, the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s GM Roundtable, and the National Operations Advisory Board for the International Luxury Hotel Association.
