Gayle Tuckett
Commander (CDR) Gayle Tuckett, PharmD is a distinguished pharmacist, public health leader, and commissioned officer in the United States Public Health Service. She has dedicated her professional journey to advancing equitable healthcare, strengthening national preparedness, and mentoring the next generation of leaders in pharmacy and public health.
Currently serving within the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) as a Senior Public Health Analyst, Dr. Tuckett plays a vital role in supporting nearly 1,400 health centers that expand access to care for more than 32.4 million people. Embracing the dual responsibilities of healthcare leadership and uniformed service, she currently serves as Chair of the Pharmacy Professional Advisory Committee leading and representing the issues over 1,200 pharmacists to the Office of the Surgeon General (OSG). She also is the Chair of the Smoking and Tobacco Use Advisory Committee which recently assisted in drafting a Youth Vaping Resource guide included in the Health and Human Services’ press release.
Her service has been recognized through 56 USPHS medals and her excellence as a pharmacist and commitment to the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA) and its mission noted by several awards and selection as a Fellow in 2024. She was also chosen for Old Dominion University’s, her alma mater, 40 under 40 inaugural class.
Dr. Tuckett received a Bachelor of Science from Old Dominion University and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. She is currently completing a Master of Public Health and Master of Business Administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Residing in Maryland, Dr. Tuckett balances her professional life with traveling, having visited 39 states and 32 countries, and developing her pickleball skills.
