J. Kevin McIntyre, Esq. (Kevin), a native Washingtonian, began his education in DC public schools.  Upon graduating from Eastern Senior High School, Kevin moved on to Howard University, where he received a BA in English.  He was also commissioned as an Army Officer from Howard University ROTC.  Kevin completed five years and a combat tour in the military then left to begin law school at the University of New Hampshire, where he focused on trial law.  After graduation, Kevin served as the law clerk for the Honorable Judge Mitchell Rankin in the DC Superior Court.  After a year as a law clerk, Kevin moved on to the Office of the Attorney General, where he worked in the Child Support, Juvenile, Mental Health and Consumer Protection Divisions.  He served as prosecutor and then eventually worked his way up to supervisory trial attorney before he left and joined the General Counsel’s Office for the Department of Public Works (DPW).  After serving DPW for two years, Kevin became the General Counsel for the DC Public Library.

Kevin was elected as the Third District’s District Counselor in 2018 and has served in that capacity since then.

Kevin has spent his entire career mentoring and speaking to students, lawyers and the public about career success and survival in the workplace.  Kevin is an avid reader, loves cigars and plays golf as much as he can.
