John Wilson IV is a passionate legal advocate and former financial analyst whose career is defined by leadership, service, and a commitment to justice. Originally from Dallas, Texas, John is currently an Associate at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan in Washington, D.C., where he represents high-profile clients including Jay-Z and Megan Thee Stallion, while also contributing to landmark outcomes such as securing the dismissal of charges in a high-profile police brutality case, confirming a multi-billion-dollar bankruptcy restructuring for a major cryptocurrency exchange, and resolving a DOJ investigation involving autonomous vehicle technology.
John’s journey began at North Carolina A&T State University, where he earned his B.S. in Business Finance. There he excelled as a Division I student-athlete on the Men’s Tennis Team, earned Academic All-American honors, and served as Senior Class President.
He earned his J.D. from Washington University School of Law, where he was honored for excellence in oral advocacy and served as President of the Black Law Student Association. He interned with the ACLU and ArchCity Defenders in St. Louis.
John’s experience spans Baker McKenzie, the Dallas District Attorney’s Office, and Jones, Allen & Fuquay, L.L.P. Before law school, he worked as a Financial Analyst at Texas Instruments.
Outside his practice, John is an avid tennis player and cello player. He serves as a board member of the Williams Franklin Foundation, which provides scholarships for HBCU students, and is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. He also mentors aspiring legal professionals.
