Kahlil Epps
Kahlil Epps is an Associate at Wiley Rein LLP in Washington, D.C., whose practice spans commercial litigation, government contracts, and employment law. He has trial experience and has represented clients in complex disputes across federal and state courts. Kahlil also guides clients through internal and government investigations with precision and care.
Before joining Wiley Rein, Kahlil cultivated a solid foundation in public service and global education. He was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to Zagreb, Croatia, where he lectured at the University of Zagreb’s Faculty of Education, exploring topics such as W.E.B. Du Bois’s concept of double consciousness, the intersection of poetry and hip-hop, and the role of social media in modern civil rights movements – experiences that continue to shape his legal perspective.
Kahlil earned his B.A. in English from Grinnell College as a Posse Foundation Scholar and received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School. At Vanderbilt, he served as President of the Vanderbilt Bar Association and worked in the Youth Opportunity Clinic, advocating for students with educational disabilities. He also clerked with the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia.
A native of Washington, D.C., Kahlil maintains a strong pro bono practice focused on special education advocacy, Social Security Income disputes, and consumer protection. He volunteers at the Consumer Law Resource Center and was selected as a 2024–2025 Fellow of the National Bar Association’s Associate Advancement Academy for Excellence. Kahlil brings a global perspective and deep commitment to mentorship, equity, and service to his legal work.
