Kendra Brown currently holds the role of Vice President – Community & Belonging for Mastercard. She is the Immediate Past Chair of the Maryland State Advisory Committee of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission. Previously, she was the Chief of Staff for Representative G. K. Butterfield (NC-01) in the United States Congress and Senior Director for Diversity, Inclusion and Affinity for the Washington College of Law at American University.
A former National Chair of the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA), Kendra completed her undergraduate studies at Hampton University, her Master of Divinity at Howard University Divinity School, and received her law degree from Vermont Law School. Additionally, Kendra attended the George Washington University School of Law for her Master of Laws. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Ministry in Soulcare at Wesley Theological Seminary. She has been a part of the NBA advocacy efforts as a member of the Legislative Committee and the Young Lawyers Division.
She has a sincere passion for ensuring people reach their maximum potential. Kendra is committed to community engagement and empowerment and is the Immediate Past President of the Upsilon Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in Baltimore County, MD and is a member of the Baltimore Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. She is a member of the board of Vermont Law and Graduate School, the Y of Central Maryland, the Public Affairs Council and Maryland Humanities. She also serves as a Corporate Advisory Committee Member of the Black Professionals in International Affairs (BPIA).
