Li Reed
Li Reed is a Litigation Associate at Covington & Burling in Washington, DC. Li represents clients in complex litigation matters and high stakes investigations. Li also maintains a robust pro bono practice focused primarily on civil rights and economic justice.
Upon joining the firm, Li was seconded to Bread for the City, a local community-based nonprofit, where she represented low-income tenants in eviction matters. Li continues to support housing justice work by mentoring Covington attorneys as they represent tenants through Covington’s Housing Right to Counsel Project.
Li is currently the lead associate representing the Virginia State Conference NAACP and several Black students in a lawsuit challenging the Shenandoah County School Board’s 2024 decision to reinstate school names honoring Confederate generals in violation of students’ First and Fourteenth amendment rights.
Li began her legal career at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York. Li received her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2020, where she served as President of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau. Prior to attending law school, Li served as a teacher and administrator in the District of Columbia Public School system.
