Mark Dunham

Mark A. Dunham, Jr. is President-Elect of the Cook County Bar Association, one of the nation’s oldest bar associations of Black lawyers and judges, where he has held multiple leadership roles focused on governance, operations, and professional development. He will assume the presidency in 2027.

Professionally, Dunham serves as Senior Director & Senior Counsel, Securities and Corporate Governance at Shoals Technologies Group, Inc., a publicly traded company, where he advises executive leadership and the Board of Directors on securities regulation, corporate governance, public-company disclosure, executive compensation, shareholder matters, and other corporate affairs. His career has also included service at Mondelēz International and in the corporate practices of Latham & Watkins, Mayer Brown, and A&O Shearman (previously Shearman & Sterling LLP).

Dunham is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at American University Washington College of Law, his alma mater, and the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where he teaches courses in corporate legal drafting and corporation law, helping prepare future lawyers to navigate the practical demands of corporate practice, governance, and leadership.

His commitment to leadership and service extends nationally. From 2017 to 2018, Dunham served as the 50th National Chair of the National Black Law Students Association, leading the country’s largest organization of Black law students. From 2020 to 2024, he served as Eastern Regional Legal Counsel of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, providing legal and governance counsel to the fraternity’s regional leadership.

Across the corporate, academic, bar, and nonprofit sectors, Dunham’s work reflects a sustained commitment to institutional leadership, professional excellence, and expanding opportunities for the next generation of Black lawyers and leaders.
