Morandon Henry

Morandon Henry is a dedicated advocate for gun safety, civic engagement, and community leadership. As National Partnerships Associate at Everytown for Gun Safety, he leads strategic collaborations with Black- and brown-led organizations to advance efforts to end gun violence and build safer communities across America.

He previously worked at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), where he managed the intern and fellowship programs and helped engage over 100,000 voters during the 2020 election cycle. He also interned for Congresswoman Barbara Lee through the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.

From 2017 to 2022, Morandon served on the NAACP National Board of Directors, holding leadership roles as Vice Chair of both the Political Action and Legislation Committee and the NAACP Image Awards. As Vice Chair of the Image Awards, Henry significantly contributed to the transformation of the show, ensuring a more accurate reflection of the diverse spectrum of African American artistic achievement. Recognizing hip-hop’s profound cultural influence, he championed the creation of new award categories honoring the genre. These additions not only celebrated hip-hop’s artistic excellence but also cemented its legacy within the broader landscape of Black cultural expression.

A native of Berkeley, California, Morandon received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Oral Roberts University. He currently resides in Washington, DC. His leadership and impact have been recognized nationally, including being named one of Washington Life Magazine’s “Movers & Shakers” in 2024 and as a 40 Under 40 Honoree by the Church of God in Christ in 2019.
