Quay Wembley

A native of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Quay Wembley is an alumnus of East Carolina University and North Carolina Central University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and served on the Environmental Law Review. His legal journey has taken him from cross-border M&A and litigation to his current role as an in-house attorney at the National Retail Federation, where he advises on commercial, corporate, and strategic matters for one of the nation’s most influential industries.

Quay’s career has given him a unique perspective on the intersection of law, business, and opportunity. During his time with the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S., he gained firsthand exposure to companies entering the U.S. market and learned how entrepreneurs and businesses navigate expansion, establish their U.S. presence, and pursue long-term growth. The experience strengthened his passion for economic development and expanding access to opportunity, interests that continue to shape his legal practice. He is drawn to work that helps businesses and organizations navigate challenges, pursue new opportunities, and create the conditions for growth.

A committed mentor and community leader, Quay has served on the Board of Directors of Knights Building Knights Foundation, supporting programs that equip young men of color with the skills and confidence to thrive academically, professionally, and personally. He is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Quay believes the greatest measure of success is the opportunity to help others succeed.
