Serena Agaba Rwejuna

Serena is a transformational executive with 15+ years of experience driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and stakeholder value across all facets of the Energy sector. She’s a commercially minded advisor and strategist to Fortune 500 companies. Serena’s a Partner at the international law firm White & Case, where she is Head of the Energy Markets & Regulatory Practice.

As an entrepreneurial advisor who’s formally trained in psychology, management, and public policy, Serena’s developed a dynamic, multidisciplinary practice focused on innovation, value creation and problem solving in highly-regulated industries. Serena counsels clients on compliance with federal regulations, cross-border and multijurisdictional transactions, and advises on project development, negotiating bespoke commercial arrangements, M&A, project finance and dispute resolution. She advises clients on ESG, sustainability, and energy transition matters spanning the universe of pipes and wires, energy security, and net-zero targets. Serena maintains a robust pro bono practice advising non-profits and entrepreneurs on management related matters; representing veterans before the Board of Veteran’s Appeals; and leading domestic and international advocacy and public policy projects on women’s, civil and human rights issues.

Serena holds several non-profit Board leadership roles and she is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Serena was appointed to the prestigious Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability Board of Advisors. Serena is a five times Chambers-ranked Partner; she’s been named the Duke University School of Law Young Alumni of the Year; she was recognized by the Women in Business Law Awards as Energy, Natural Resources and Mining Lawyer of the Year; and Oil & Gas Investor named Serena one of the Most Influential Women in Energy, recognizing her as a “multifaceted leader with a career described as a masterclass in leadership, dedication and impact.
