Shantel Upshaw Houston

Dr. Houston is a consultant pharmacist, creative entrepreneur, and passionate advocate for health equity. As the President and CEO of HoustonRx Consulting, she empowers healthcare professionals and organizations with strategic brand management and digital marketing solutions.

With a strong foundation in independent community pharmacy, Dr. Houston completed a PGY1 residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received grant funding to implement patient care services. She then worked as Clinical Coordinator for Premier Pharmacy and Wellness Center in Charlotte, NC and furthered her leadership journey at the National Community Pharmacists Association, directing continuing education initiatives.

Currently, Dr. Houston serves as the Zone II Director for the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA) and as an Advisory Board member for the Minority Pharmacist Entrepreneur Collaborative (MPECrx), demonstrating her commitment to advancing the profession and empowering minority pharmacists. Her blend of clinical knowledge, business acumen, and creative vision makes her a sought-after consultant and mentor in the healthcare space.
