Shantia Joy Coley

Shantia J. Coley serves as Associate General Counsel for dually registered Investment Advisor and Broker Dealer, Edward D. Jones & Co., LP. Her responsibilities include leading the Complaint Investigations team in their FINRA reporting, consumer investigation, and SEC response efforts.

Shantia previously worked at Wells Fargo Bank as Counsel in the Litigation, Regulatory, Enforcement and Investigations Division. While at Wells Fargo, Shantia served on the Mecklenburg County Domestic Violence Advisory Board (Charlotte, NC). Shantia was also Parliamentarian of the Young Lawyers Division of the National Bar Association and a member of the Board of Directors for the Goodwill of the Southern Piedmont.

Shantia is presently actively involved in Jack and Jill of America, where she serves as chapter Parliamentarian and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She is a recipient of the National Bar Association’s Top 40 Under 40 Lawyers Award and was selected as a NexGen Millennial Award recipient by Corporate Counsel Women of Color.

As a millennial leader and first-generation traditional college student, Shantia is extremely passionate about educating and empowering. You can often find her on a stage or mentoring call encouraging women and the next generation of leaders to defy comfort zones, develop a personal board of directors and set boundaries that support their goals.

Shantia earned her JD from North Carolina Central University School of Law and her B.A. from Elon University. Shantia and her husband, Joshua, live in St. Louis and share two sons, Jacob and Joshua.
