Sherles Durham

Sherles Durham is a Houston-based in-house attorney and corporate governance leader with more than eight years of experience advising financial institutions on corporate governance, securities matters, regulatory compliance, commercial transactions, litigation, and other complex legal matters. She currently serves as Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel, and Assistant Corporate Secretary at Stellar Bank, where she provides legal counsel across the organization and supports executive leadership, boards, and committees on governance, strategic, and legal matters.

Sherles has built her career at the intersection of legal counsel, corporate leadership, and service. Nationally, she serves as Treasurer of the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, following her service as Vice Director of National Conferences. In Houston, she has held several leadership positions within the Houston Young Lawyers Association, including Treasurer, and was named HYLA’s Corporate Counsel of the Year in recognition of her professional accomplishments and contributions to the legal community.

Her commitment to service extends beyond the practice of law. Sherles is active in the Houston community through organizations including the Junior League of Houston and Camp For All, and she has served as a mentor through the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce’s Love What You Do program.

Sherles earned her J.D. from Cumberland School of Law and is admitted to practice law in Texas, Georgia, and Alabama.
