Stephon Woods
Stephon D. Woods, Esq. is a trailblazing attorney and public servant whose career embodies the highest ideals of innovation, leadership, and justice. As Special Counsel for Post-Judgment Compliance and Accountability at the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, Stephon ensures that hard-won legal victories translate into meaningful, lasting change for the communities he serves.
With over a decade of distinguished legal experience, Stephon has championed the rights of vulnerable and marginalized communities at every stage of his career — from providing frontline pro bono representation to low-income D.C. residents at Bread for the City, to litigating landmark civil rights and fair housing cases as a Trial Attorney at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. His groundbreaking work earned him HUD’s prestigious Secretary’s Award for Innovator of the Year in 2022 and recognition among the Washington Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Power 100.
A servant leader at his core, Stephon has mentored countless law students, interns, and junior attorneys, shaping the next generation of public interest advocates. He has held leadership roles across the Washington Council of Lawyers, the Washington Bar Association, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., consistently leveraging those platforms to advance equity, access, and opportunity.
Beyond the courtroom, Stephon volunteers with seniors, families experiencing homelessness, and children in the shelter system — because for him, justice is not just a profession. It is a calling.
