Sudan Gordon

From answering a high school career quiz that playfully listed “magician,” “rock star,” and “pharmacist,” Dr. Sudan Gordon found his calling in pharmacy—a field he came to appreciate for its impact, rigor, and respect. That curious spark evolved into a lifelong commitment to innovation in pharmacy practice and public advocacy.

As a Senior Clinical Solutions Consultant in Pharmacy Automation, Dr. Gordon oversees the performance of robotic systems within mail-order pharmacy operations. He diligently analyzes automation reports, optimizes robotics, manages pharmacy technicians handling NDC fulfillment, spearheads continuous improvement initiatives, and conveys results to senior leadership. In this role, he also played a key part in merging PillPack with Amazon Pharmacy, enhancing efficiency and elevating patient care on a national scale.

Previously, Dr. Gordon built a varied and deep resume: starting as a pharmacy technician in both chain and independent settings, contributing at Grubbs CARE Pharmacy, launching Green Pharmacy (an independent community pharmacy in Bethesda, MD), and taking on leadership in various operational areas at Amazon Pharmacy—including fulfillment, health equity, learning & development, and pharmacy automation. He also established the Mail Order Rotation Student Program and serves as Rotation Site Lead for Experiential Education at Amazon in Arizona.

An alum of Howard University, Dr. Gordon earned both a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences degree. He also holds professional certifications in Pharmacy Revenue Cycle Management and Teaching for Pharmacists from ASHP. In addition, he chairs the NPhA Legislative & Regulatory Affairs Committee, is an active member of the Arizona Pharmacy Association Legislative Committee, and mentors through SNPhA’s PSMP initiatives.

At his core, Dr. Gordon is deeply invested in mentoring—for instance, facilitating the development of APPE students and helping them engage with the future of pharmacy automation, which he finds both energizing and meaningful. He balances his intense professional life by planning personal time in advance, valuing family and friend connections as grounding and restorative.
